A two session programme looking at the importance of children Reading for Pleasure.
Dates: Thursday 27 September and Thursday 18 October 2018
Times: Both sessions will take place at 1:15 – 3:30pm

Target Audience: Key Stage 1 and 2 teachers and subject leaders for English Aims of the sessions:
• To become familiar with recent research and evidence regarding the importance of children Reading for Pleasure as a lifelong skill.
• ‘Teachers as Readers and Readers who teach’ : developing a range of strategies and approaches which can enable a school co become a ‘community of readers’.
• Ensuring Breadth, Depth and Balance in the curriculum : Quality texts at the heart of a school’s core and foundation subject teaching: investigating models of planning that use a high quality text to lead cross curricular learning. Participants will be asked to complete a gap task between session 1 and 2.
